108 MPs were in favour, one was against and 9 MPs abstained.
The draft law will introduce that the terminal and infrastructure which will ensure its effective operation have to be set before December, 2014, reports LETA/ELTA.
The LNG terminal would be located in the territory of the Klaipeda Seaport. The LNG terminal project will be recognised as a project of national importance. The LNG terminal is planned to be launched in December, 2014.
After building the terminal, Lithuania will have an alternative source of liquefied natural gas which would ensure security and reliability. It has been approved that Norwegian company Hoegh LNG will build a floating storage with gasification facility for the terminal.
