Rigas Siltums heating tariffs down 2% from October

Rigas Siltums municipal heating company will cut its heating tariffs by 2% from October, the company informed LETA/BNS.

As of October 1, Rigas Siltums heating tariff will be at EUR 39.77 MWh, excluding value added tax, compared to the current tariff of EUR 40.46 MWh.


"Being aware of the economic impact created by Covid-19 pandemic that affects solvency of Rigas Siltums clients, and considering the approach developed by the Public Utilities Commission, allowing to react to the price changes, Rigas Siltums reduced its heating tariffs for the fourth time in the past six months," the comany said, adding that in a year heating tariffs have been dropped by 23%.


Rigas Siltums is one of the main heat suppliers in Riga - the company transmits and distributes 76% of all heat in Riga. The company's shareholders include the Riga City Council - 49% of shares, the state of Latvia - 48.995%, Energijas Risinajumi. RIX - 2%, and Latvenergo.
