A new cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia's Novatek is on its way to the Lithuanian port of Klaipeda, marking the 17th such delivery in the new gas year that started last October, reported LETA/BNS.

The Coral Favia gas carrier is planned to dock at the (Klaipeda) LNG terminal tonight," Klaipedos Nafta, the terminal's operator, told.

The tanker is coming from Russia's Baltic Sea port of Vysotsk, where Novatek has a LNG facility, according to the vessel tracking websites Marinetraffic.com and Myshiptracking.com.

The Klaipeda LNG terminal handled its first cargo of 2020 in early January. The shipment of around 138,000 cubic meters of gas came from Norway's Melkoya port where Equinor has a LNG production facility. It was the seventh large LNG cargo from Norway in the current gas year.3

A LNG shipment of more than 150,000 cubic meters from the United States arrived in Lithuania last December.
