Elering pays out EUR 8.4 mln in renewable energy subsidy in October

Estonian transmission system operator Elering paid out altogether 8.4 mln euros in renewable energy subsidy in October, informed LETA/BNS.

In the first ten months of the year, the Estonian TSO paid out a total of 67 mln euros in renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support.

 

Fortum Eesti and Anne Soojus, Estonian holdings of Fortum Power and Heat OY energy group of Finland, were the biggest recipients of renewable energy support in Estonia in October, receiving altogether approximately 1.7 mln euros during the month.

 

Around the same amount of money went to the state-owned Enefit Green.

 

The Nelja Energia group and Utilitas Tallinna Elektrijaam both received approximately 1.5 mln euros and the wood pellet manufacturer Graanul Invest 972,000 euros.

 

Enefit Green AS is renewable energy subsidiary of the Estonian state-owned energy group Eesti Energia.

 

Nelja Energia group, whose acquisition by Enefit Green has been suspended by an order of a court until at least Dec. 10 based on a request from rival energy producer Skinest Energia, owns the companies VV Tuulepargid, Aseriaru Tuulepark, Hanila Tuulepargid, Pakri Tuulepargid, Vinni Biogaas and Oisu Biogaas.

 

The recipients of the subsidy as part of the Graanul Invest group are the CHP generating companies Imavere Energia, Helme Energia and Osula Energia.

 

Altogether, Elering paid out 77.7 mln euros in renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support in 2017. Fortum Eesti and Anne Soojus were the biggest recipients of renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support in Estonia in 2017, receiving altogether approximately 19.3 mln euros.

 

The next biggest recipients of subsidy were Enefit Green AS, which received 14.6 mln euros, companies of Nelja Energia group, which received 11.9 mln euros, and Utilitas Tallinna Elektrijaam OU, which received 8.5 mln euros.

 

Renewable energy support and high-efficiency cogeneration support are deemed state aid.
