Tanker to deliver this year's 3rd LNG cargo for Lithuania's Achema

A new shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Norway's Statoil is to arrive in Klaipeda on Tuesday, marking the eight LNG delivery to the Lithuanian port since the start of the current gas year on Oct. 1, 2016 and the third one for the fertilizer manufacturer Achema, reported LETA/BNS.

The Arctic Princess is expected to come to Klaipeda on Tuesday morning, according to the vessel positions tracking website Marinetraffic.com.

According to the LNG supply schedule made available by Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil), the operator of the Klaipeda LNG terminal, the vessel is to deliver 40,000 cubic meters of LNG from Statoil's terminal.

The gas is apparently being delivered to Achema, Lithuania's single largest natural gas consumer. The last two LNG shipments were also delivered for the fertilizer manufacturer.

Achema spokeswoman Janina Sabaite-Melnikoviene told that the company would not comment on the information.

The gas trade company Litgas, which also buys Statoil gas, says on its website that it does not expect a LNG cargo on Tuesday. Lietuvos Duju Tiekimas (Lithuanian Gas Supply, or LDT), another LNG importer, purchases gas from the US company Koch Supply & Trading.
