Achema and Klaipedos Nafta agree on LNG capacities

BC, Vilnius, 02.03.2017.Print version
Lithuania's fertilizer manufacturer Achema, the country's single largest natural gas consumer, and Klaipedos Nafta (Klaipeda Oil) have agreed on capacities of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal. Achema's CEO, however, refused to disclose the date of arrival of the first LNG shipment for Achema this year, writes LETA/BNS.

"We have finalized our schedules and will work them out with Klaipedos Nafta but I would not want to comment on the first ship," Ramunas Miliauskas, Achema's CEO, told.

As planned, the company should buy gas from Norways' Statoil during the warm period between the spring and the fall.

Achema at the beginning of the year signed a gas supplies contract with Gazprom and Statoil. According to information available to LETA/BNS, the company intends to purchase about two thirds of the 870 mln cubic meters it needs from Russia. The remaining share, just like last year, will come from Norway's Statoil.
