Kalvitis among candidates Latvijas Gaze CEO

Former Prime Minister Aigars Kalvitis is one of the five to six candidates running for the CEO at Latvijas Gaze, according to Juris Savickis, CEO of the company's shareholder Itera Latvija, writes LETA.

Latvijas Gaze is holding interviews with all candidates during this week, said Savickis.

Asked whether the candidates for the CEO position are mostly from Latvia, Savickis said that, because one of the requirements is fluent Latvian language skills, only candidates who meet this requirement where left after the first round of the competition.

Savickis indicated that the new Latvijas Gaze CEO could be named on August 14.

Kalvitis declined to comment.

As reported, Latvijas Gaze former CEO Adrians Davis decided earlier this summer to leave the company.

Davis' contract ends on August 16.
