Gundega Repše's story included in "Best European Fiction 2012" anthology

Latvian writer Gundegas Repše's story "How Important Is It To Be Ernest?" has been included in the "Best European Fiction 2012" anthology published by Dalkey Archive Press" Latvian Literature Centre's representative Arita Gutāne informs.

"How Important Is It To Be Ernest" ("Cik svarīgi būt Ernestam") was translated into English by Margita Gailītis, the story comes from the writer's collection of stories published in 2009, reports BC Kultura.lv/the Latvian Institute.

 

This is the third edition of the annual anthology. Previously Inga Ābele's story "Ants and Bumblebees" ("Kamenes un skudras") and Nora Ikstena's "Elza Kuga's Old-Age Dementia" ("Elzas Kugas vecuma neprāts") were included in the anthology.

 

The anthology's editor is Aleksandar Hemon. In total, there are 34 stories by authors from 28 countries in the anthology.
