It was agreed that the Riga City Council and the Open University of China will work jointly to implement this project.
Riga, the Freeport of Riga and private companies are interested in developing economic cooperation with China. However, the number of Chinese language specialists is insufficient. Therefore the cooperation with the Open University of China will be highly useful. Moreover, taking into account Riga's advantageous geographical location, the language center could work in the entire Baltic and Scandinavian regions, emphasized Usakovs.
3.3 million students are currently studying at the Open University of China. 500,000 graduate each year. The university specializes in distance learning.
As reported, Usakovs' visit to China will continue until July 2.
