Possibilities of establishing such centres were discussed by Lithuanian Education Minister Gintaras Steponavicius and Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Lithuania Galymzhan Koishybayev on Friday.

There are about 20,000 Lithuanians presently living in Kazakhstan, thus, according to Ambassador Koishybayev, there is a great interest in Lithuania's culture and business opportunities. Minister Steponavicius encouraged Kazakh students to study in Lithuanian higher education institutions and presented the reform of education and studies which aimed at improving the quality of studies and the overall attractiveness of the Lithuanian higher education system, informs LETA/ELTA.

According to the diplomat, a group of about twenty future medics arrive constantly for a training period at Kaunas University of Medicine.
