Lithuanian language study centre to be set up in Kazakhstan, Lithuania will have a centre of the Kazakh language studies

One of universities of Kazakhstan, the Central Asian country, will have a centre of the Lithuanian language studies, while Lithuania will have a centre of the Kazakh language studies. Possibilities of establishing such centres were discussed by Lithuanian Education Minister Gintaras Steponavicius and Kazakhstan's Ambassador to Lithuania Galymzhan Koishybayev on Friday.

There are about 20,000 Lithuanians presently living in Kazakhstan, thus, according to Ambassador Koishybayev, there is a great interest in Lithuania's culture and business opportunities. Minister Steponavicius encouraged Kazakh students to study in Lithuanian higher education institutions and presented the reform of education and studies which aimed at improving the quality of studies and the overall attractiveness of the Lithuanian higher education system, informs LETA/ELTA.

 

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan emphasised that the strengthened direct relations between higher education institutions would encourage Kazakh students to choose studying in Lithuania, the press release reads. According to the diplomat, a group of about twenty future medics arrive constantly for a training period at Kaunas University of Medicine.
