THE BRITISH ACADEMIC LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (www.bali.uk.net) was founded in 1995 by a group of academics and education promoters in the UK as the Anglo International Education Consortium. Then the focus was on the development of relations with institutions in the newly created Independent States, which succeeded the dissolved Soviet Union. Since then, this has changed into the current organisation BALI, which has opened branches in England, Russia, China, the Baltic States, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Turkey.

The mission of BALI is to create an environment in which academic and education professional leaders can meet, share ideas and develop opportunities for business.

The BALI New Supporting Initiative offers a number of opportunities for education institutions including: expert advice on modern curriculum development, benchmarking and certification of their curriculum along the lines of the British Education Standards, professional independent assessment of the institutions quality in terms of Customer Service Standards by Vox Populi (Charter Mark type assessment), and on a number of services to help education institutions  achieve a stronger professional position in the market in the times of demographic, political and technological pressures.

BALI Patron – James Holmes will chair the event. Ashley Rowlands, BALI Board Chairman and John Westwood, BALI Board Member and International Director of ILEX, the Institute of Legal and Business Executives, will make a keynote presentation. The BALI management team from the UK will be there to make complementary presentations, take questions and provide training afterwards. The team will comprise of John Godfrey, Vox Populi Cheif Inspector (ex senior inspector of Charter Mark), David Wheeler- chief consultant on governance, Alex Zhabin –Executive Director and Russian representatives.

BALI Representatives from the regional offices in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan will be also there.

The event will consist of the two consecutive parts: a formal session with the presentation of the BALI New Supporting Initiative and a networking reception with informal discussions that will follow the presentation.

Any educational institution or body that signs up is welcome to join the meeting and the reception.
