Number of university applicants in Lithuania decreases by 1,700 in 2017

Just over 28,000 candidates in 2017 filed applications to study at Lithuanian universities and universities of applied sciences, down from more than 29,700 applicants last year, reports LETA/BNS.
The 2017
applicants include over 16,000 people who graduated from high school this year,
the Lithuanian Higher Education Institutions' Association for General
Admission, or LAMA BPO, told BNS.
Wednesday was the deadline for filing applications for
higher education study programs, with first-stage invitations to study to be
issued on Monday.
Nineteen universities and 21 universities of applied
sciences participate in the general admission process this year.
