The Group supports Moldova's eurointegration aspirations and seeks to ensure that signing of the EU – Moldova Association Agreement, which was initialled in the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit in late November, 2013, would be smooth and without any essential obstacles.

"Lithuania will continue to actively contribute to common actions of providing full assistance to Moldova. At this point Lithuania appreciates Romania's expertise on Moldova," stressed Kirkilas at the meeting with Romania's Ambassador to Lithuania Dan Adrian Balanescu.

According to Balanescu, Romania's government welcomes Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council and will seek to take over the good practice of the Lithuanian Presidency and EU aid absorption.

"Romania is also actively seeking support for Romania's and Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area. Lithuania, former Presidency of the EU Council, will continue to make every effort to support the aspirations of these two countries," said the deputy speaker of Parliament.
