The key topic of the meeting between President Yanukovych and Prime Minister Ansip was Ukraine’s integration with the European Union. President Yanukovych thanked Prime Minister Ansip for his support.

Prime Minister Ansip reiterated his expectation that the relations between Ukraine and Europe would become closer and expressed hope that the Association and Free Trade Agreement will be concluded in Vilnius.

The Prime Minister was of the view that Ukraine should become part of the European Union single market, but first, it is necessary to find solutions to national problems, which also inevitably shape European public opinion towards Ukraine. “Ukraine stands at a crossroad of choices,” he said, and added that Ukraine is expected to provide specific solutions.

The President and the Prime Minister agreed that the support from other European Union countries for Ukraine is now more important than ever.

“Estonia will support Ukraine’s endeavours in moving towards the European Union,” the Prime Minister confirmed.
