The Lithuanian delegation, led by the Director of Eastern Neighbourhood Policy Department of the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry Edminas Bagdonas, included the Ambassador-at-Large Vaidotas Verba, representatives from Lithuania’s Foreign Ministry and the Office of the President. Ukraine was represented by Andriy Melnyk, Director General of the Third Territorial Directorate General of Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Lithuania Valery Zhovtenko.

The guests were also received by the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Andrius Krivas.

Members of the Ukrainian delegation underlined that Lithuania’s support and consultations were very important for this country in the run-up to the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius.

The Lithuanian diplomats were briefed about reforms in Ukraine and progress which was being made to fully implement the Council Conclusions of the December 2012 Foreign Affairs Council.

The parties also exchanged information concerning planned bilateral visits and possibility of joint visits to discuss Eastern Partnership issues. The Ukrainian representatives thanked for the visit of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Lithuania and the Netherlands and the Minister of European Affairs of Denmark to Kyiv on 25 April, which was paid at the initiative of the Lithuanian and Polish Foreign Ministries.
