Grybauskaite's adviser: Lithuanian-Russian relations show positive dynamics

Lithuanian-Russian relations show a lot positive dynamics, particularly when it comes to business. However, it is natural that some interests in the energy sector differ, President Dalia Grybauskaite's chief adviser on foreign policy Darius Semaska said.

The adviser noted that trade and investment are developed in a particularly dynamic manner. Russia is Lithuania's biggest business partner as both the exports and imports have been growing. Last year, the exports volume accounted for LTL 12 billion (EUR 3.5 billion), while the imports stood at LTL 26 billion (EUR 7.5 billion).

"In this case, the dynamics is very positive () the Government and other state institutions are working to improve the business environment and conditions and reach different agreements with Russia () In the last six months we signed two important agreements: on the construction of the bridge over the Nemunas (Neman) River and on cooperation in the fields of standardization, metrology and conformity assessment. This will also help our business reduce certain bureaucratic obstacles," he said Tuesday morning on the radio Ziniu Radijas, reported LETA.
