Latvian restaurant chain Lido owner Gunars Kirsons has concluded an agreement with the Mayor of Moscow Yury Luzhkov on opening a Lido catering complex in Moscow, as Kirsons informed the business information website "Nozare.lv".

According to him, it is already the second time that Moscow officials invite Lido to open a branch in the Russian capital. "This time we will not decline the offer, and already starting February next year, work on constructing a new catering complex will get under way. The initiative will create 200 new jobs; the project is planned to be finished in approximately one and a half or two years' time," Kirsons explained.

Russian entrepreneurs will invest resources necessary for construction of the catering complex, but all the equipment and products will be supplied from Latvia, writes LETA.

Kirsons informed that in the next couple of years plans are in the works to complete the procedure of harmonizing the necessary agreements for construction of a Lido catering complex in the city of Trier in Germany, whose officials have praised Lido's offer.

The head of the restaurant chain is hopeful that Lido, which recently opened in Tallinn, will open doors to the Scandinavian market. "We are doing very well in Tallinn, the turnover figure there is large, and we hope that foreign tourists in Tallinn will only eat at our restaurant," the entrepreneur said.
