Murniece said in an interview with the LTV show "Rita panorama" that she cannot imagine a situation where she would meet with the Russian ambassador to Latvia.

"I believe that Russia is an aggressor country, therefore there is no way I will be meeting with the Russian ambassador; not while Ukraine is fighting with this country, not while this eastern neighbor is trying to influence other countries' interests through information warfare that residents of Latvia are experiencing right now," Murniece said.

As reported, Russian Ambassador to Latvia Alexander Veshnyakov is planning on meeting Unity's Saeima Group today to discuss bilateral relations and interparliamentary cooperation between Latvia and Russia.

The ambassador said that Russia-Latvia relations are not in their best condition at the moment, therefore, it would be necessary to achieve as much as possible next year in order to improve them. He explained that he is meeting with Saeima groups in order to listen to the parties' opinions and to present Russia's point of view.
