On the sidelines of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, Rinkevics organized a Friends of Georgia meeting, which was attended by the Georgian foreign minister, EU foreign ministers, as well as representatives from the EU's Foreign Services department. Rinkevics also called on European partners to show stronger support to Eastern Partnership countries, and expressed support to Georgia's reform process.

Meanwhile, during the Foreign Affairs Council meeting itself, the foreign ministers agreed on a common strategy in fighting the spread of the Ebola virus, by enhancing mutual coordination in humanitarian aid operations, as well as ensuring the necessary medical evacuation transportation, so that EU medics on the ground in the regions hit by the Ebola outbreak in Africa can return to Europe.
