Lord Mayor of London has high opinion of Latvia's priorities

The Lord Mayor of London Fiona Woolf during a meeting with Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics expressed her high opinion of Latvia's priorities, the successful implementation of which was also important to the companies of the City of London, reports BC the Latvian Institute.

Rinkevics emphasized the successful cooperation between Riga and the City of London that jointly organized a business forum in London in 2012, Latvian financial sector officials' opportunities for on-the-job training in the City of London, and the work on future joint ventures.

 

Foreign Minister also informed Woolf about the priorities of Latvia during the country's presidency at the Council of the European Union – growth and competitiveness of the EU, making use of the digital potential for the EU's growth, increasing the EU's profile at the international arena.

 

Woolf and a delegation accompanying the Lord Mayor of London have arrived in Latvia to meet with representatives from the Foreign Ministry, Economy Ministry, Finance Ministry, Financial and Capital Market Commission, Bank of Latvia and other institutions. The Lord Mayor of London traditionally visits all EU member states that are about to assume the presidency of the EU Council.
