"Montenegro and Lithuania are countries of possibilities. The expedition of our progress depends only on the consensus, commitment and efforts of our countries' politicians and society. We felt this very clearly when we did our homework seeking membership in the EU and NATO, and we feel this also now, as we are actively working in the international community. We are glad that we are able to share our experience and thus contribute to the objectives of your young, active and ambitious state," Azubalis said. The meeting focused on the implementation of the Montenegrin judicial system reform, areas where progress is still needed and perspectives of bilateral cooperation.
The Minister commended Montenegro's progress and initiatives aimed at addressing the refugee problem in the Balkan region. The Minister also said that in many international forums Lithuania speaks about the responsibility of Kosovo and Serbia when solving this problem and about the necessity to help these countries get their citizens back.
Azubalis also assured Luksic that he, as the Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), was doing everything he could to solve the refugee problem.
Luksic was acquainted with the proposal to organize an internship for a Montenegrin diplomat in the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, offering knowledge in the European integration. The agenda of the visit of the Montenegrin Prime Minister to Lithuania also includes official meetings with Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius and other high-ranking officials.
