BC, Vilnius, 03.08.2012.Print version

One of largest Lithuania's Christopher Summer Festival presents fiery Balkan rhythms in a concert of a collective Trio Balkan Strings from Serbia on August 3, the Christopher Summer Festival's organizers said in a statement.

The program includes Balkan swing, jazz improvizations, as well as original compositions, report LETA/ELTA.

The festival's guests from Serbia is a family of guitarists: a father and two sons Zoran Starcevic, Nikola Starcevic, Zeljko Starcevic, calling themselves the Trio Balkan Strings.

The group will mix a cocktail of traditional melodies enhanced with elements of Slavic, Turkish and Gypsy music, tastefully incorporating jazz improvization and the highest musical virtuosity.

The Christopher Summer Festival is the largest and one of the most impressive summer music festivals in Lithuania, and runs for two months from July to August.

During this time, over 50 original concert events are presented to the public, taking place in different spaces in Vilnius and other Lithuanian districts.

This festival does not easily fit into any stylistic frame – its motto being „all genres are good, except the boring ones”. So, alongside classical music masterpieces there is jazz, world music, experimental projects, and traditional organ, guitar and piano music cycles.

Full ticket prices for adults total 32, 42, 52, 62, and 82 litas.

The event will take place at the Courtyard of Vilnius Teachers House.
