Other events in Baltic States

The 30th Summer Olympic Games will officially begin in London today.

10,500 athletes from all over the world will compete for 302 sets of medals in 36 events.

46 athletes will represent Latvia at the Olympic Games – 23 athletes, four beach volleyball players, four BMX riders, two swimmers, two pentathlonists, two canoeists, two freestyle wrestlers, two judoists, a road cyclist, a gymnast, a table tennis player, a marksman and a weight lifter, writes LETA.

Latvian 100-meter dash record holder Ronalds Arajs, who underwent Achilles tendon surgery, has also been included in Latvia's delegation, but will not participate.
