London Festival of Architecture features photo exhibition „Riga from Above”
exhibition of 45 photos „Riga From Above” has been opened in the London
Festival of Architecture that will be available to the public till July 6,
informed BC the Latvian Institute.
The photographs by Juris Kalniņš have been taken from an aeroplane. Following the flow of the river Daugava through the city, it captures the mosaic panorama of urban structures, main transport arteries and bridges as well as church steeples and ancient fortifications of the historic town centre.
It is also a part of the program for Riga as the European Capital of Culture in 2014 and has been made by the architect Jānis Dripe in cooperation with Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 10:00am – 4:30pm in Southwark Council, 160 Tooley Street London SE1 2QH.
