The weather was cool and breezy but that did not deter about 60,000 people from showing up in Old Town between Akmens and Vansu bridges in Riga to sing, dance, eat, drink and be merry until dawn, reports LETA.

Three stages were set up for live entertainment, with the main one featuring the Maestro Raimonds Pauls' production "Ligo!, Riga".

This was the third year in a row that the city council has held mass events on Midsummer Night, the other one taking place across the bridges at Dzegulzkalns, Pardaugava.
