Vilnius invites locals and guests of the city to celebrate the sixth "Culture Night", the tradition that has been kept by an initiative of the artists, on the night from June 16 to June 17, the Vilnius Convention Bureau reported.

This year, from 6 p.m. till 2 a.m. capital art meccas and spaces, under the open starry summer sky, will be filled up by almost one hundred and fifty various cultural events, writes LETA/ELTA.

Both traditional events, favored by attendees of "Culture Night", and creative premieres are going to be among the projects, presented during the night.

During the six years of its existence "Culture Night" has become one of the most anticipated celebrations in the city.

The visitors of the event will be welcomed by grand piano concerts, performances of contemporary artists and choirs, film screenings and poetry readings. In S.Daukantas' square a dance floor, so much favored by nightly visitors, will be installed where dance programs and dance classes by professional teachers will take place.

One of the most cheerful projects of "Culture Night" is "Mega Drawing". During such a project everyone can discover an inner talent of "an artist". Experimenters of new technologies will invite the passers-by to try drawing by means of lasers upon the pictures, projected on the wall of the Contemporary Art Center.

During the night the doors of more than 20 museums of the capital city will be opened for the visitors. The museums will invite everybody to visit the running exhibitions, concert programs as well as to participate in thematic and historic excursions.

This year's "Culture Night" proclaims that it is strictly forbidden to sleep on this special night of June.

A map of "Culture Night" events will be available in the cafes of cafe chain Coffee Inn. Night buses will be available in Vilnius during all day and night.
