The biggest cross-country running marathon in Baltic States the SEB 29.Tartu Jooksumaraton has already 3600 signed up for 23 and 10 km distances.

Last year the event had 3691 registered participants so breaking the record is close. Organisers are waiting runners from 13 different countries, informed BC marathon’s press service.

Tartu Jooksumaraton is organised for the 29th time for professional and amateur athletes. Both distances can be covered also by Nordic Walking.

The Race Director of SEB 29. Tartu Jooksumaraton Kunnar Karu says that they are prepared to host up to 4000 runners.

“Ten days ago track conditions were quite troubling because the river of Elva had floated the roads near the finish. Luckily we’ve had a dry week since then and the problem has solved. We are making the last preparations before the race on Sunday, 8th of May and I’m sure everybody can enjoy very good running conditions,” comments Karu.

Both 10 and 23 km tracks are situated in Southern Estonia on diverse landscapes offering little hills and slopes and beautiful forest scenery.

Distances are feasible for sportsmen with different preparation level.

Those, who get tired during the running, can replenish lost energy in Service Points offering food and drinks.

Tartu Jooksumaraton is the biggest cross-country running marathon in Baltic States. It was held for the first time in 1983 in the second biggest city in Estonia – Tartu. Starting from 1999 it is organised in Southern Estonia. Last year 5656 people took part from different events in the program of Tartu Jooksumaraton including children events.
