Two dolphins born in Klaipeda Sea Museum

BC, Vilnius/Klaipeda, 11.09.2009.Print version

It's the time of little ones being born in the dophinarium of Klaipeda Sea Museum. Over past several weeks two dolphin calves were born there, informs ELTA/LETA.

On September 27, dolphin Glorija gave birth and on September 5 – Premija.

The father of both calves is Argas, aged 27, who arrived in the dophinarium 12 years ago.

Glorija's baby is a female, while the gender of Premija's calf is yet unknown.

These dolphins are not participating in shows at the moment, they are looking after their children. Therefore, show programme has become shorter. Some tricks that can be dangerous for calves have been abandoned for a while, as calves are staying in the same pool.
