“New Wave” winners – Sondoro Sandhy from Indonesia and Jamala from Ukraine

Print versionLatvia's Aisha (Aija Andrejeva), who wound up in 4th place at the international contest of young singers of popular music "New Wave 2009", was named "audience favorite" during the awards presentation ceremony in Jurmala, reports LETA.
The contest winners were Sondoro Sandhy from Indonesia and Jamala from Ukraine; each took home EUR 50,000. Italy's Antello Carozza was second, Mark Yusim from Russia was third.
Aisha shared 4th/5th place with Lika from Georgia.
Russian pop diva Alla Pugachova presented her special award – "The Golden Star" – to Milla Niticha from Ukraine. Its cash prize is USD 50,000.
