Lithuanian minister of foreign affairs to visit Estonia

Minister of foreign affairs of Lithuania Vygaudas Ushackas will visit Estonia on Tuesday, writes Postimees/LETA.

 

He will have meetings with Speaker of Riigikogu Ene Ergma, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip and minister of foreign affairs Urmas Paet. According to Ushackas" interview to Postimees, during his visit he will discuss a wide range of political issues with Estonian leaders, including the Baltic Sea strategy, Eastern partnership and relations with Russia as well as security policy, regional co-operation etc.

 

"We will speak about implementing such common energy and transportation projects as the Visaginas nuclear power plant, Rail Baltica, the plan to merge the Baltic energy markets and economic co-operation," he said, adding that he believes that joint celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Way, the 70th anniversary of the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact and other common projects between the Baltic States will also be talked about.

 

When asked about the progress on the Baltic nuclear power plant, Ushackas said that he is glad to note that all preparatory works are progressing according to plans.
