In compliance with the proposal made by President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves and President of Latvia Valdis Zatlers, the Victory Day parade will take place in Cesis, writes EPL Online/LETA.

"The parade will be organised because this year will be the 90th anniversary of the Battle of Võnnu that is the day when the Victory Day is celebrated in Estonia," explained the press officer of the Defence League Tanel Rütman. "The initiative for this came from Toomas Hendrik Ilves and from Valdis Zatlers who agreed upon this in autumn already," he added.

Rütman explained that most of the participates in the parade will be the representatives of voluntary organisations. "There will be approximately 500 persons lined up on behalf of Estonia and just as many from Latvia," he stated.
