Print versionEstonia's top ranked tennis player Anett Kontaveit, WTA No 21, defeated French player Caroline Garcia, WTA No 45, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1) in the opening round of the 2020 Italian Open on Tuesday, writes LETA/BNS.
During the match, which lasted an hour and 38 minutes, Kontaveit played five aces against Garcia's two. At the same time, Garcia made nine double faults against Kontaveit's three.
The result of the matches between them is now 2-1 in Kontaveit's favor.
