Kurucs scores eight points in Nets loss

Latvian forward Rodions Kurucs scored eight points as his Brooklyn Nets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 133:134 (31:31, 36:42, 37:24, 29:37) on Thursday in the last match before the NBA playoffs, informed LETA. 


Kurucs was on the floor for 22 minutes, scoring eight points, pulling down five rebounds, making two assists, and blocking one shot.


Caris LeVert led the Nets with 37 points and nine assists, while Damian Lillard scored 42 points and made two assists for the Trail Blazers.


The Nets had already qualified for the playoffs before yesterday's match, while the Trail Blazers will play one more game, against the Memphis Grizzlies, that will decide which of these two teams will advance to the playoffs.


In the first round of the NBA playoffs, the Nets will play the Toronto Raptors. The first match will be on Monday.


Also on Thursday, the Dallas Mavericks were defeated by the Phoenix Suns 102:128 (25:36, 32:40, 22:28, 23:24).


Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis did not play last night due to a heel injury.

The Mavericks will face the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round of the NBA playoffs, with the first game in the series scheduled for Monday.


With 43 wins and 32 losses, the Mavericks are seventh in the NBA Western Conference standings, while the Nets are seventh in the Eastern Conference with 35 wins and 37 losses.
