In celebration of the 136th anniversary of the flag of Estonia on Thursday, June 4, all state and local government authorities and legal persons governed by public law are to hoist the Estonian flag to mark the occasion, informed LETA/BNS.

Everyone else is also invited to hoist the Estonian flag as the symbol of our state, culture and consciousness, spokespeople for the government said. Speaker of the Riigikogu Henn Polluaas, chairman of the Estonian Flag Association Juri Trei  and the head of the Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church, Archbishop Urmas Viilma, will speak at the ceremony. Music will be provided by the orchestra of the Estonian defense forces.

Estonia's first blue-black-and-white flag will be on display at the Estonian National Museum with special guided tours scheduled for 4 p.m. on June 4 and 2 p.m. on June 6. A film program dedicated to the anniversary of the flag has also been organized.
