Latvia opens U-20 World Men's Ice Hockey Championships with win over Denmark

BC, Riga, 10.12.2019.

In the opening match of the U-20 World Men's Ice Hockey Championships (Division A) on Monday, Latvia defeated Denmark 3:0, reported LETA.

Karlis Bucenieks scored two goals for Latvia, with Glebs Prohorenkovs scoring the third.

Latvia will play its next match of the tournament today against Belarus.

In the other group matches yesterday, Norway defeated Slovenia 6:2, while Belarus defeated Austria 4:3.

Only the winner of the tournament will earn promotion to the Elite Division next year.
