Latvian national women's team loses to Croatia in 2021 EuroBasket qualifier

Print version Latvian national women's basketball team opened the 2021 EuroBasket Women qualification campaign with a 65:83 loss to Hungary on Thursday, informed LETA/BNS.
Kristina Vitola led the Latvian team with 15 points and 14 rebounds, Elina Dikeulaku scored 17 points, and Kate Kreslina and Ilze Jakobsone had eight points each.
Ivana Dojkic was the highest scorer for Croatia with 27 points.
This was the first game for the team's new head coach Martins Gulbis, who was confirmed in the job this past August. Gulbis is also the head coach of Latvian Basketball League club Jurmala/Betsafe.
On Sunday, Latvia will play North Macedonia, which was defeated 40:105 by Germany on Thursday.
