1.34 million watched live broadcast celebrations of Latvia's 90th anniversary

Over one million people watched Latvian State Television' (LTV) live broadcast of the celebrations of Latvia's 90th anniversary, as LTV public relations department informed LETA, referring to media, market and social survey agency TNS Latvia's survey.

 

Altogether over 1,340,000 residents of Latvia, older than age four, watched the live broadcasts, starting from festive events in Latvia's regions until the culmination of the celebration on November 18.

 

The largest number of spectators – 736,400 – watched broadcast of the events in Vidzeme Region. 504,000 residents of Latvia, older than age four, viewed President Valdis Zatlers' November 18 speech at the Freedom Monument.

 

On November 18, around 425,000 spectators watched the laser show and fireworks at Daugava riverside, and an audience of over 346,000 people watched the live broadcast of the military parade.

 

Celebration of Independence Day could be seen also via LTV's Internet Website and were watched by several thousand people in 45 countries.
