Today, NATO Airborne Warning And Control System (AWACS) plane will land at the Riga airport, LETA learned from the Defense Ministry.

Air Force Commander Aivars Mezors said that Latvia highly values NATO's contribution in strengthening Latvia's and regional security. He also said that landing of the AWACS plane in Riga is a strong signal for NATO's solidarity and unity, demonstrating understanding of today's security challenges and geopolitical situation.
