India's vice president to visit Estonia next week

 Indian Vice President Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu is to visit Estonia on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, this is the first high-level visit from India to Estonia, informed LETA/BNS. 


The vice president is scheduled to arrive at Tallinn Airport in the evening of Aug. 20. On Wednesday, Aug. 21, Naidu is to meet with Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid in Kadriorg. The vice president will also meet with Prime Minister Juri Ratas at Stenbock House and later with Riigikogu speaker Henn Polluaas in the Riigikogu building. In the afternoon, Naidu is to place a wreath at the Monument to the Victory in the War of Independence in Tallinn.


Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu is to greet the vice president at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after which Naidu is to speak at a conference for the envoys of Estonia's foreign representations. A visa freedom agreement for diplomatic passports will also be signed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.


Naidu is to then head to Ulemiste City, where he is to visit the e-Estonia showroom. Both the Indian vice president and Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas are to give welcome speeches at an Estonian-Indian business seminar. In their presence, memorandums of understanding on cooperation in e-governance with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and on cooperation in cyber security with the Information System Authority (RIA) will be signed. 


Topics to be discussed during the visit of the Indian vice president include the development of bilateral relations, possible cooperation in the United Nations and international organizations. The business seminar will provide an opportunity for both sides to develop business and tourism links.
