Participants in the exercise will include US, Polish, Romanian and Estonian troops, spokespeople for the headquarters of the Estonian defense forces said. The Estonian Navy's command and support vessel Wambola, the staff of the Estonian naval fleet and members of the Saaremaa district of the Kaitseliit (Defense League) volunteer corps will also join the effort.

The objective of Baltops is to promote states' mutual understanding, trust and cooperation capability though joint exercises. Cooperation at sea, on land and in the air will be rehearsed as part of the exercise to be held in the Baltic Sea.
