VEF Riga wins fifth game in a row in VTB United League

In VTB United League action on Sunday, Latvian basketball club VEF Riga defeated Russia's Saratov Avtodor 89:78 (30:25, 17:17, 23:18, 19:18), extending its winning streak in the league to five games, informed LETA/BNS. 


Mareks Mejeris was the highest scorer for VEF Riga with 26 points, while Arturs Ausejs had 15 points. Trae Golden and Anthony Ireland scored 16 points apiece for Avtodor.


In the VTB League standings at the moment, VEF Riga is in tenth place with eight wins and 13 losses, while Avtodor is in ninth place with eight wins and 12 losses.
