Latvian hockey club Riga Dinamo defeated Bratislava Slovan 5:0 (0:0, 2:0, 3:0) in its last home game of the Kontinental Hockey League's (KHL) regular season at Arena Riga on Monday, reported LETA/BNS.

The Dinamo still have a good chance to qualify for the playoffs as Moscow Oblast Vityaz have just one point more than the Riga club, and in the two remaining matches this KHL season the Dinamo can potentially take four points.

In the two last remaining matches, Riga Dinamo will play Cherepovets Severstal and Moscow CSKA, while Vityaz will face Minsk Dinamo and Yekatirinburg Avtomobilist. Sochi, which have two points more than the Dinamo, will play Moscow Spartak and Bratislava Slovan.

Last night, Andris Dzerins scored two goals for the Dinamo, while Oskars Batna, Linus Videll and Rihards Marenis each scored one goal. Timur Bilyalov stopped all 22 shots on goal and was named the best player of the match.

Riga Dinamo are currently in ninth place in the KHL Western Conference standings with 60 points from 60 matches, while Slovan are last in the entire league with 33 points after 60 games.
