Estonia to establish no-fly zones in Tallinn for UEFA Super Cup match

Estonia has imposed a no-fly zone above Freedom Square and the Lillekula Stadium in Tallinn for Wednesday evening and night, when the UEFA Super Cup match will be played in the capital of Estonia, informs LETA/BNS.

According to the Civil Aviation Administration, the no-fly zone will be in effect above Freedom Square and the Lillekula Stadium from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 1 a.m. Thursday.

In the no-fly zone also the flying of drones is forbidden.


To operate unmanned aerial vehicles in those areas, operators must have a clearance from the Police and Border Guard Board in addition to the clearance of the Civil Aviation Administration.

 

The 2018 UEFA Super Cup will be played on August 15 at Tallinn's Lillekula Stadium, the first senior UEFA final in Estonia in the centenary of the republic's creation. The match starting at 10 p.m. local time will see UEFA Champions League governing champion Real Madrid pitted against UEFA Europa League winner Atletico Madrid. Some 50 million people across the globe are estimated to watch the match live on TV and via online channels.


On Tuesday and Wednesday a fan zone will be laid out on Freedom Square, were UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup trophies will be displayed and quizzes held for fans with tickets to the match as awards. Live coverage of the match will be provided on a large screen installed at Freedom Square.
