Latvian U-18 ladies defeat Russia to advance to EC semis

Print versionhe Latvian U18 women's basketball team yesterday defeated Russia 69:62 in the quarterfinals of this year's European U18 Women's Basketball Championships, informed LETA/BNS.
With the win, Latvia also ensured itself a place at next year's FIBA U19 World Women's Basketball Championships.
Aleksa Gulbe led the way for Latvia with 22 points and 10 rebounds, with Laura Meldere adding 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Latvia will now play Germany in Saturday's semifinals. In the other semifinal match-up pairing, Spain will take on Hungary.
As reported, Latvia finished in first place the Group B standings with two wins and one loss, and then defeated Sweden in the opening knock-out round.
