Commander of Canadian Joint Operations Command to visit Latvia this week

The Commander of the Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC), Lieutenant General Michael Rouleau, is due to arrive in Latvia on a visit to meet with Latvian military officials for discussions on bilateral defense cooperation, as well as issues concerning the presence of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup in Latvia, LETA was told at the Latvian Defense Ministry.
On Monday, July 23. Lt. Gen. Rouleau will visit the Latvian Defense
Ministry to meet with Brigadier General Ivo Mogilnijs as the new
Commander of the Joint Headquarters of the Latvian National Armed Forces.
On Tuesday, July 24, the Canadian military official will learn about the capabilities
and missions of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Latvian Land Forces and
meet with the soldiers serving in NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup.
On July 25, Lt. Gen. Rouleau will visit the Latvia-based NATO Force
Integration Unit (NFIU) tasked with ensuring allied forces’ fast and
coordinated deployment to the region.
