Latvian basketball club Ventspils defeated Danish basketball club Aarhus Bakken Bears 81:75 in a second-leg match last night, but was not enough to advance to the quarterfinals of the FIBA Europe Cup tournament, writes LETA.

The Danish club defeated Ventspils 168:154 on aggregate and will advance to the tournament's quarterfinals.

Rihards Lomazs led the way for the Latvian club with 15 points, while Jeffrey Crockett was the top scorer for the Danish club with 23 points and nine rebounds.

As reported, Bakken Bears defeated Ventspils last week 93:73 in the first-leg match.

Ventspils finished in fifth place in the FIBA Champions League's Group B and therefore did not advance to the tournament's knock-out stage and was relegated to play in the Europe Cup tournament.
