Latvia's top downhill skier Kristaps Zvejnieks finished in overall 26th
place in the Olympic men's combined slalom events today, which is a repeat of
Latvia's best ever finish in an Olympic downhill events, informs LETA.
Meanwhile, Austria's Marcel Hirscher won the gold medal.
Zvejnieks finished 5.24 second behind the winner.
France’s Alexis Pinturault claimed the silver medal, while fellow Frenchman
Victor Muffat-Jeandet earned the bronze medal.
This was Latvia's best result in a men's downhill event since 2002, when
Ivars Ciaguns finished in 26th place in the slalom.
