Latvian biathlete Baiba Bendika achieved a new personal best yesterday, finishing tenth in 15 km individual competition at Biathlon World Cup event in Germany's Ruhpolding, reports LETA.

Bendika missed once, at the third shooting stage of the race.

Dorothea Wierer (Italy) placed first, clocking 41 minutes 29 seconds. Bendika lost one minute 34.6 seconds to Wierer. Kaisa Makarainen (Finland) came in second and Rosanna Crawford (Canada) third.

Bendika was 26th after the first shooting stop, 11th after the second and fifth after the third, losing just 37.5 seconds to then-leader Crawford, but dropped to ninth place after the last shooting stage, eventually finishing tenth.

At the moment, Anastasija Kuzmina is first in women's standings with 454 points to her name. Makarainen is second with 429 points and Wierer is third with 378 points. Bendika is in 51st place with 43 points.
