Mart Taniel, cinematographer of the Estonian film "November", was chosen as one of the three nominees for an award of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC), informs LETA/BNS.

The three nominees for the Spotlight Award are Mate Herbai for "On Body and Soul", Mikhail Krichman for "Loveless" and Taniel for "November", the Estonian Film Institute said. Nominees were chosen among cinematographers who are not members of ASC and whose films were made outside the U.S.

The award ceremony will take place on Feb. 17.

The international premiere of "November" took place at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York where it received an award for the best cinematography. The film was also chosen as part of the official program of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and has been screened at several other festivals.

"November" is to premiere in the U.S. on Feb. 23.
