Latvian director Aigars Grauba’s new historical action film The King’s Ring is scheduled to premiere on January 17, the film’s communications consultant Agnese Ruberte told LETA.

Originally, the film’s premiere was scheduled for January 19.

Ruberte said that the main premiere event with the participation of the film’s creators and actors, which will take place at the Forum Cinemas multiplex, will be streamed on LMT Straume app. The film will be simultaneously released also in other largest movie theaters across Latvia.

The King’s Ring is a historical Viking-style saga, unfolding in 13th century Semigallia, a region in the central part of what is modern-day Latvia. The film tells the story of the Semigallians, a Baltic tribe who fought against German invaders under the leadership of their King Namejs.

The King’s Ring is directed by Grauba and produced by Andrejs Ekis.
